The Marketing Copywriter develops persuasive marketing copy to tell the Mayo Clinic story globally. The copywriter builds a deep understanding of target audience needs and modes of delivery and writes copy that addresses those needs, supports institutional objectives, and integrates optimally in the selected delivery modes (voice, mobile app, website, etc). Collaborates with creative colleagues to develop copy that integrates effectively in the design. The Marketing Copywriter is responsible for understanding user needs and incorporating that knowledge in benefit-focused copy. The Marketing Copywriter will contribute to Marketing's test and learn culture by partnering with analytics staff to optimize marketing copy for conversion. The Copywriter transforms information from creative briefs or information from subject matter experts in the Practice as well as colleagues within Marketing to craft compelling and engaging copy. This individual edits copy written by others as needed and ensures all produced content meets brand and quality standards and supports brand messaging and voice.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital marketing, advertising, English, communications, or related field required. At least 3 years of professional experience developing marketing copy for e-mails, advertising, websites, mobile apps, and other channels. Excellent understanding of grammar and punctuation as well as editing and proofreading skills are required.

Excellent persuasive writing skills with the ability to adapt style and tone based on audience needs, stage of journey, message and the medium. Position requires the ability to write and edit content for both the medical professional and patient/consumer audiences. Skills in the field of communications, media relations, social media, digital, and news activities as a plus. Strong knowledge of SEO principles and experience with writing search engine optimized mobile web content. Strong editorial judgment. Experience with web publishing, basic HTML markup, and content management system (CMS) applications. Must be able to work effectively in a consensus-style, collaborative, and changing environment that expects and promotes teamwork. Must be self-motivated, flexible, creative, and have a strong bias for action. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively to prioritize and drive forward multiple projects. Must possess high personal motivation supporting a strong work ethic, flexibility, and creativity. Must bring a customer service mindset, enjoy complexity, and be adept at solving problems. Must be able to manage and drive forward multiple projects, balancing and delivering on competing deadlines and priorities. Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence, maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Writing samples will be required for consideration. Familiarity with AP Style Guide beneficial.
Required education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The salary range every 2 weeks is approx. $2,608.00-$3,652.00 based on a full-time position.
Hours / Pay period
Monday through Friday, flexible day-shift.
