What you will do
- Guide a team of developers to achieve development objectives
- Take full responsibility for the team's software development tasks including analysis and design, implementation and transition activities
- Communicate goals and objectives to the team
- Ensure that team members have the proper resources and training to perform their duties
- Represent the team in internal and external meetings relating to workload, dependencies and issues
- Coaching and mentoring team members
- Carry out development assignments –balance development and leadership responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject or equivalent experience
- Significant experience in enterprise software development, ideally in a Senior/Team Lead capacity
- Strength in Enterprise Java development
- Familiarity with Java frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot)
- Experience with relational database (e.g. PostgreSQL)
- Skills in web services technologies (e.g. RESTful)
- Linux proficiency and experience dealing with distributed systems
- Exposure to Agile development practices such as Scrum and test-driven development
- Ability to supervise and handle team workloads and to provide recommendations into the project management process
- Excellent analytical, problem determination and time management skills
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude an ability to engage and create trust in others
- Cloud expertise e.g. AWS, elastic search, Kafka, authentication schemes
- Knowledge in Microsoft development including C#, .Net
- Experience with Git, Maven and Docker, CI/CD
- Understanding of Microservice architecture
- Working knowledge of non-relational database (e.g. Cassandra)
- Experience with virtual machine
- Skills in scripting languages (e.g. Python, bash, Typescript)
