Client Description

Our client is a major Fortune 500 Company and one of the world’s most innovative and cutting-edge technology companies as the top smartphone company and one of the world’s most beloved brands (hereafter, the “Company”). Meanwhile, the Company’s website is one of the world’s most visited sites, serving millions of people every day, being a key part of the Company’s communication strategy.

This role is with the Media Production Team of the global Marketing Communications Group. The Marketing Communications Group oversees all advertising and marketing to ensure the detailed development and implementation of world-class communications. The Marketing Communications Group works on high-impact projects that serve various lines of business, using the latest technologies and continuing to evolve and deliver solutions on a worldwide scale.

What We Are Looking For

Droisys is seeking a Technical Writer, who will work on writing scripts for technical videos that will help technicians at retail stores and repair centers provide service and support to the Company customers, primarily at “Company Stores” (e.g., Genius Bar).

• This position is either remote or onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.

• This assignment is 6 months with the possibility for extension.

Overview of Role:

• The Technical Writer will write scripts for step-by step videos. The Writer will work with the existing team to write scripts for technical procedures. A large portion of the workflow is step based (i.e., Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, Step 4), and the writer will be writing scripts to take technicians through the process. (A technician is anyone who provides services and support for the Company at any retail store, repair center, etc.)

Key Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with writing for pre-recorded videos, technical writing, and/or how-to writing (combination ideal)

• Experience with technical writing for procedures, especially step-by-step instructional content for pre-recorded video content (i.e., experience writing step-by-step, workflow-based technical scripts for video-based training content)

• Collaborative software for writing, such as Google Docs and Slack

• Experience with style guides (experience writing globally and accessibly is a plus)

Helpful Experience:

• How-to technical writing, especially technical procedures via video

• Any “how-to” writing

• Writing for technical trainings and training events

• Writing for video or live broadcast

• Technical procedures, documentation

• Experience writing content proposals based on data-driven decisions

Key Skills:

• Excellent communication, collaboration and writing skills

• Ability to balance multiple tasks for several projects concurrently, often on short timelines

Pay:

• 48/hr to 68/hr DOE

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
