Now’s your chance to make your Wimbledon dreams come true - 3 minutes read

Just because Wimbledon has been delayed until 2021 doesn’t mean you can’t make your wildest tennis dreams come true in 2020.

With the goal of creating a bit of cheer during this unprecedented crisis and to give back to fans, The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), organisers of The Championships, have started an initiative to give fans a chance to win their dream Wimbledon experience.

Coined as ‘A Wish From Wimbledon’ , the AELTC are asking one simple question: If Wimbledon could grant you one wish, what would it be?

Besides a serve like Serena Williams’, here are a few things we’d wish for if we had the chance:

1. Go head-to-head like the pros

The opportunity to play a romping game of tennis with a mate on one of Wimbledon’s amazing grass show courts.

2. Get one-on-one coaching with a pro

Not that your local coaches aren't great, but learning from a professional is next level. The chance to learn from one of Britain's greats – from Tim Henman to Andy Murray – is high up on our list.

3. Feel fancy for a day

Strawberries and cream, and champagne all day. The chance to feel like royalty for a day in one of Wimbledon’s luxe hospitality suites is just what we need to get over these lockdown blues.

4. Learn what all this means

Lights, camera, action. A behind-the-scenes look at what goes on in Wimbledon’s Broadcast Centre would be a dream come true for aspiring sports journalists.

5. Have a romantic dinner under the night sky, Wimbledon style

Forget the tourists and crowds, we're wishing for an exclusive dinner at Wimbledon under the night sky – the perfect backdrop for a 'love'ly photo opp. (tennis pun intended.)

6. Sit. In. The. Chair.

Speaking of photo opps., the chance to sit courtside on the rather cool umpire chair and get a pic for the ‘gram would surely get the ‘likes’ flowing.

7. Imbibe all of the Pimm's

‘A Pimm’s a day keeps the doctor away’ – or something like that. A year’s supply of Pimm’s has to be pretty high on the list (don’t judge us, this lockdown has been A LOT)

How to submit your wish

If you’ve been inspired by our wishes above and you want to submit your own (or you can submit one of ours, we won’t tell anyone) simply go to www.wimbledon.com/wish to register, and submit your wish by 19 July, 2020. And as much as we’d like to helicopter into Centre Court and enjoy a Royal Box seat alongside Beckham, the AELTC have stipulated that things have to be realistic, so use the above as a guide for what’s possible.

Winners will be announced by 31 August, 2020, and the AELTC will make their Wimbledon dream come true over the course of the next year.

Until then, let your imaginations run wild and get your submissions in. As for us, we’ve got our fingers crossed for the Pimm’s.
