Kanye West Returns to Forbes' Highest Earning Celebrity 2019 List

Forbes has just released its 2019 list of highest earning celebrities, with Taylor Swift taking the number one spot with gross earnings of $185 million. She is followed by Kylie Jenner ($170 million) and Forbes’ latest cover star Kanye West ($150 million), who returns to the list after a four-year hiatus.

Just three years ago, West claimed he was $53 million in debt. Forbes’ expansive profile explores the rapper and entrepreneur’s soaring wealth and creative journey. Much of “Kanye’s Second Coming” is down to the artist’s YEEZY brand, whose sales are estimated to hit $1.5 billion this year. West attributes YEEZY’s success to his understanding of the merchandise.

“I am a product guy at my core,” he tells Forbes. “To make products that make people feel an immense amount of joy and solve issues and problems in their life, that’s the problem-solving that I love to do.”

Other notable names on the list include footballers Lionel Messi ($127 million), Cristiano Ronaldo ($109 million), and Neymar ($105 million), as well as Ed Sheeran ($110 million) and TV personality Dr. Phil ($95 million). Find the complete list below and head over to Forbes for the complete breakdown.

On this episode of The Dropcast, we are joined by Jabari “Jacuzzi” Khaled, founder of Basketball Skateboards and under-the-radar creative who’s worked with your favorite designer’s favorite designers.
