The title on the Borussia Dussedorf article today contains the perfect alliteration with Benedikt and the German word  “beendet” – a reference to Benedikt Duda closing out a perfect week.  And a perfect week it was – Duda won the Dusseldorf Masters event a week ago, was named to the Germany Olympic squad this Wednesday, and then won today.  And at least as far as the Dusseldorf Masters goes, Duda has now moved up to second in the points totals – and just needs to finish one level ahead of Cedric Meissner next week to win the title.

Sunday’s event was the sixth of seven events.  Like the other events in the series, there was a mix of ranked players and young Germans.  Cedric Meissner, the Series points leader fell to Anton Kallberg in the Quarterfinals.  Benno Oehme, who entered the event second in the points totals, fell to Duda in the Quarterfinals.  In the Final, Duda topped Kallberg 3-2.

Current Point Leaders:  Meissner 140, Duda 130, Oehme 105.
