ANA's New Business And First Class Looks Amazing, It's Also The Biggest Mileage Bargain Around

ANA revealed their new business and first class cabin on their 777-300ERs and it looks pretty awesome:

I flew ANA First Class from Tokyo to JFK on the way back from the United Island Hopper in 2015.

The service was among the best I’ve ever experienced on an airplane, the flight attendants were truly amazing. And the 21 year old Suntory whiskey and Hermolis kosher meals were the icing on the cake:

The first class seat and bed were very comfortable, but you couldn’t see out of the window and it didn’t have a door:

The middle seats were also oddly designed as people sitting in them can’t talk to each other:

ANA is rebranding first class as The Suite and business class as the room. They both look amazing.

New ANA First, with a 43″ 4K LED, a door for privacy, windows, and more:

The middle seats have a partition for privacy that goes up and down so that companions can talk to each other:

Business class is staggered with forward and rear facing seats that also have privacy doors and middle partitions and go up and down:

The first class seat will have the advantage of more legroom, a bigger screen, and more amenities, but the difference between business and first class continues to shrink. No wonder first class is dying.

The first plane with this layout starts flying between London and Tokyo on August 2nd with service on even days until the end of the month when it moves to daily service. After that it will roll out to other routes.

The best way to fly on ANA is using Virgin Atlantic miles.

Here is the Virgin Atlantic award chart for round-trip travel on ANA:

You need just 95K miles to fly round-trip from London or the East Coast to Japan in business class or 120K miles in first class.
