3 easy ways to lower your cholesterol

Do you know that eating food that is high in fat such as saturated fat and trans fat can increase your level of LDL(Low-Density Lipoprotein)? This is not good because LDL can increase your risk of getting a heart attack, stroke, and other types of heart and vascular disease. LDL is called good cholesterol and High-density lipoprotein (HDL) is considered good cholesterol. I will explain a bit more letter.

Did you know that even if your weight loss does get you to your ideal weight, it can still help you lower the level of LDL or bad cholesterol? This is one of the reasons why it is important to learn and use the 3 easy to lower cholesterol that I will share with you.

The first way you can lower your cholesterol is to make sure you are eating smart. Eat food that has low saturated fat, trans fat, and sodium(salt).

Make sure you are not eating fatty meals rich in cheese and palm oil. Instead make sure that you consistently choose food or meals with seafood, whole grains, yogurt, fruits, and veggies.

One easy way to check how much trans fat is your meal or the food that you want to eat is to check your nutrition fact. What is your Nutrition Fact? It is a label you will find on most food items that will help you break down how much protein, carbohydrate, and fat are in the food you want to eat.

If it contains a lot of fat and trans fat, stay away from it. Don't get discouraged, if you do not remember to check your nutrition facts regularly, it takes a while to get used to doing it. Keep on trying.

The second easy way to lower your cholesterol is to exercise every day. You don't have to do strenuous exercise to get this benefit. You can simply make sure to walk at least 4 miles every day. If you are not able to do this, stay physically active for at least 45 minutes every day.

You can do this through gardening and yard cleaning.

The third way you can lower your cholesterol level is to quit smoking. Smoking particularly has the dangerous consequence of increasing your LDL while lowering your HDL.

This is particularly dangerous because your HDL helps to move cholesterol to the liver where the body will metabolize it, while LDL moves cholesterol to the vessels, where it can contribute to clogging and narrowing of vessels. Clogged and narrow vessels can lead to reduced blood flow and heart attacks.

In addition to these 3 easy ways to lower your cholesterol, the act of actually losing weight and keeping it off can also help you lower your cholesterol level.

Remember that food high in fiber such as oatmeal and brown rice, as well as food that contains unsaturated fat such as avocado, olive oils, and nuts can help you to continue to lower cholesterol and continue to stay bountifully healthy.
