During the time one is highly addicted to painkillers, if one misses a single dose, one will develop withdrawal syndromes such as severe agitation, night sweats, insomnia and body aches. One will then be expected to join a support group where through behavioral therapy techniques one will successfully be rehabilitated. Treatment of painkiller addiction should be done strictly under the supervision of a specialist. A sudden cessation of the use of addictive painkillers has often proven fatal with the victim developing seizures and even heart damage. Avoiding non-prescription regular use of painkillers is the only way to stay out of addiction.
