One of Hong Kong's last remaining pro-democracy activist groups has had its account with online payment processor PayPal terminated.

The League of Social Democrats said PayPal, a multinational financial technology company based in California and Nebraska, emailed that it could no longer provide services to the activist group.

The group said that PayPal Hong Kong Limited sent a termination email on September 19 and that it has been unable to accept any new donations since then.

The text of a PayPal email sent to the League of Social Democrats in September was seen by VOA. It describes the termination and says the decision is "final."
