If you search for “$Bitcoin”, “Bitcoin price” and “BTC price” on Twitter, you will now see a Bitcoin price chart. The same searches also work for Ethereum. It is another step from Twitter, which clearly shows that it sees a future for crypto.

No Dogecoin yet?

We gave it a try, but the above searches don't work for Dogecoin. If you want to see the Doge chart, you have to type in "dogeusd". It therefore seems that the focus is currently on Bitcoin and Ethereum, which is a standout choice by Elon Musk. After all, the Dogecoin community had hoped that the memecoin would take precedence just about everywhere.

That is clearly not the case, because Twitter chooses Bitcoin and Ethereum first in any case. In advance, it seemed unlikely that Musk would fully bet on Dogecoin. After all, if he wants to turn it into a serious platform, then it is better to opt for the largest and most popular coins. These are of course Bitcoin at the moment and to a slightly lesser extent Ethereum.

On that note, this seems like the first clear sign that the Dogecoin community shouldn't hope too much from Musk. Nor can you expect him to invest $44 billion and then tie Twitter's reputation to Dogecoin. That's too much of a risk for him.

The intentions are clear

In any case, Twitter wants to continue as a financial platform. If anything, that ties in with Musk's original vision for PayPal, his first successful company. Ultimately, Twitter is intended to become an application in which you can arrange everything. If you think about it, at least they are in the ultimate position to build a financial platform.
