Set in the Canary Islands, "American Star" narrates the well-known tale of a proficient assassin setting out on what may out to be his last assignment. Wilson, the main character, is first introduced to us upon his arrival to the gorgeous island of Fuerteventura. He drives to an opulent, contemporary home in a distant location after hiring a car, only to find his target is nowhere to be found. Wilson makes the decision to drive to the coast and stay at a lovely hotel by the sea, where he will wait for his target to return so that he may carry out his mission.
