Get ready for cricket and fashion! SRK to Akshay Kumar dazzle the crowds at IPL 2024 - 3 minutes read

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is back again with its 17th edition, and so are our favourite celebrities with their matchday outfits. With some of the most popular teams playing tomorrow—Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Gujarat Titans (GT)—we can only wait in anticipation for what our favourite stars bring to the sartorial table.

This year’s opening ceremony witnessed Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, singers Sonu Nigam and AR Rahman setting the stage on fire with their electric performances at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff displayed their killer moves on stage with coordinated outfits in a camo print. Akshay wore a khaki jacket with a plunging top, paired with cargo pants and boots, while Tiger wore a half-sleeve jacket showing off his bare abs with similar bottoms to his co-performer. They both twinned in tinted shades and military-styled gloves. Walking with swagger, the duo floored the crowd with their debonair style!

Music maestros AR Rahman and Sonu Nigam once again mesmerised the audience with their melodious voices. AR Rahman looked dapper in an all-black outfit, wearing a black tee and matching pants with a shimmery sequined jacket on top, teamed with shades. On the other hand, Sonu Nigam in a sharp avatar presented the best of ethnic fashion in a grey Nehru jacket with a polka dot kurta and white pyjama set. The two dazzled the crowd as AR Rahman sang his iconic song—”Maa Tujhe Salaam”—an ode to India.

Owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, alongside Juhi Chawla, Shah Rukh Khan was spotted in the stadium cheering on his team and greeting his fans at their home ground—Eden Gardens. He was seen wearing a classic cream sweatshirt and casual denim jeans, accessorising with a pair of sunglasses and his hair tied in his signature ponytail, he looked charming as ever!

Meanwhile, Preity Zinta, the owner of Punjab Kings, made the crowds go crazy dressed in typical Punjabi ‘kudi’ fashion. She donned a white Chikankari suit with a gorgeous red phulkari dupatta as she was spotted with her friend, Parul Khanna.

Day 2 became a spectacular Bollywood affair as SRK and Preity Zinta, while not together in the same stadium, brought back the nostalgia of the 2004 movie ‘Veer-Zaara’ where they played the titular characters.

Stay tuned with us as we bring to you who’s wearing at IPL 2024!
