The story unfolds within the walls of a prestigious private school, where a new class named "Conscious Eating" is introduced. The class is taught by the carefully chosen Ms. Novak, Mia Wasikowska. While not all students initially embrace Ms. Novak's belief that consuming less food can enhance their lives and contribute to a better world, those who remain and adopt the principles of being "conscious eaters" begin to undergo personal transformations and witness changes in their relationships with others. However, when the final five students take their commitment to the extreme by completely abstaining from eating, they form a group known as "Club Zero."
