4th of July Fireworks Events in Los Angeles

With Independence Day just over a week away, Americans across the country are finalizing their plans for the holiday.

In Los Angeles and the surrounding areas, numerous resorts and stadiums are set to light up the sky with extravagant fireworks displays for the 4th of July. To help you navigate that hectic day, information about some of the biggest events is listed below.

Although The Weather Channel forecasts the evening will be mostly clear, adverse weather may impact the day's fireworks shows.

Patriotic music will accompany a fireworks display at Disneyland Park in the city of Anaheim, near LA, according to the resort's official website. For the best view, the resort recommends finding a spot in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle, between Central Plaza and the Main Street Train Station on Main Street U.S.A. or on the banks of the Rivers of America in Frontierland

As well as watching a game against the San Diego Padres, Dodgers fans will enjoy a holiday fireworks display on July 4. Events kick off at the Dodger Stadium at 1000 Vin Scully Ave at 6.10 p.m. PT (9.10 p.m. ET) next Thursday. Tickets for the game start at $32, as of 9.30 a.m. ET.

Fairplex's annual KABOOM! event promises to "Ignite the Night" with fireworks, monster trucks, quad wars and freestyle Moto X racing. Tickets for the event at the Pomona, CA, event space start at $18.50.

Guests will join in with a rendition of the national anthem at 7.50 p.m., ahead of an hour of racing from 8.00 p.m. PT. A 30-minute firework show will start at 9.15 p.m. PT.

Alongside the festivities, KABOOM! will feature a book drive from 5.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. PT.

LA's Grand Park will host a free "4th of July Block Party" from 3.00 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. PT.

Fireworks will kick off at 9.00 p.m PT from the roof of The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Organizers say the fireworks will travel nearly 500 feet high, so they should be easily visible from downtown LA.

The alcohol-free, family-friendly event will also feature performances from Boogaloo Assassins, DJ Linafornia, The Delirians, Earth Arrow, Victoria La Mala, Southern Soul Spinners, Blaq Pages, Foreigner and DJ Lez Lee.

Picnicking is allowed and numerous food trucks will be onsite. A 75-foot Ferris wheel will also be available, but tickets must be purchased for a ride.

Hollywood Bowl will hold a "July 4th Fireworks Spectacular" on three evenings: July 2, July 3 and July 4.

Each night begins at 7.30 p.m. PT with a rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, before a performance by music legend Nile Rodgers and his band, Chic. The show will also feature special guest DRUMLine Live.

Fireworks from the historic Queen Mary ship will light up the Long Beach sky at 9.00 p.m. PT, with celebrations kicking off at 3.00 p.m. PT).

The "All-American 4th of July Celebration" will feature carnival games, face painting, lawn games and live performances. Guests will also witness a "Royal Rendezvous" with sister ship The Queen Elizabeth.

Tickets are available from $29 for children and $119 for adults.

Other nearby events, including a barbecue at the Aquarium of the Pacific, offer the chance to watch the fireworks onshore.

LA's Expo Park, home to the LA Memorial Coliseum, the Natural History Museum and the California African American Museum, among others, will hold a free fireworks show for the 4th of July.

Hosted by Los Angeles city councilman Curren Price, the all-day event starts at 11.00 a.m. PT on the South Lawn. Families can enjoy picnics and even bring small barbecues to designated areas. Food will also be available for purchase onsite.

The day will feature face-painting, rock climbing and several contests.

From 2.00 p.m. PT, visitors can watch live performances from Candice Boyd Selenamos, a Selena Quintanilla Tribute Band, Rodney O and others.

An impressive firework display will start at around 9.00 p.m. PT outside the Natural History Museum.

Marina Del Rey will host a 20-minute waterfront fireworks display. The lights will feature synchronized music at viewing spots in Burton Chace Park at 13650 Mindanao Way and Fisherman's Village at 13650 Mindanao Way.

The Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena will put on its 93rd annual "AMERICAFEST" celebration, with fireworks starting at 9.00 p.m. PT. Organizers claim its display will be the "biggest fireworks show in Southern California."

Before the lights, visitors will witness the TNT Freestyle Motocross, Apollo 11: The Immersive Live Show Preview, SoCal VoCals Live Performance, Disney's DCappella Live Lion King Performance. The national anthem will be performed by Maximo Marcuso and the PCDA NoteAbles Choir.

The parking lot will open at 12.00 p.m. PT, followed by a "family fun zone" in Area H at 2.00 p.m. PT. Doors for the main area open at 5.30 p.m. PT and performances will start at 7.00 p.m. PT. General admission tickets cost $15.

Universal Studios Hollywood will celebrate Independence Day with a fireworks show. The display will feature music from Universal, as well as patriotic tunes.

During the day, park guests will notice holiday-themed décor, food and themed "character interactions" according to the park's website.
