25 Exciting Things to Do in Philly This Week, July 22-28, 2019

The XPoNential Music Festival returns for 2019 to the BB&T Pavilion and Wiggins Park in Camden with an eclectic lineup of indie up-and-comers as well as established bands and musicians. Headliners this year include Elvis Costello & the Imposters, Blondie and Hozier.

Popular comedians — like Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas and June Diane Raphael — come to stages around the city as well for the first-ever First Amendment Comedy Takeover. Comedy fans can score tickets to live comedy podcast recordings, stand-up performances and more this week at venues like The Fillmore Philadelphia and The Met Philadelphia.

Another hotly anticipated summer festival, the East Passyunk Car Show and Street Festival, fills five South Philly blocks on Sunday with food, drinks, music and more than 200 muscle, classic, antique, custom and show cars, trucks and motorcycles.

It’s also the last call for dining deals in Ardmore and University City, as each neighborhood’s respective restaurant week continues through Sunday.

And it’s easy to beat the July heat with a refreshing drink this week at events like Parks on Tap at Fairmount Water Works, Trails on Tap at Riverfront Park in Royersford, a special Shark Week happy-hour event at Adventure Aquarium and the annual SmörgåsBeer beer festival at the American Swedish Historical Museum.
