Although the narrative of The Beautiful Game Flixtor may not be based on true events, the central event it revolves around is indeed real. The Homeless World Cup brings together teams of homeless individuals from across the globe to participate in a soccer, or football, tournament. While there are certainly winners, director Thea Sharrock's film beautifully portrays the notion that no one truly loses. In this competition, victory takes on various forms for the characters involved.
