Angel Reese is already a national champion and rising WNBA star.

Now she's a professional sports owner as well.

Melanie Anzidei of The Athletic reported Tuesday that the Chicago Sky rookie is part of the ownership group of the DC Power Football Club, which is a professional women's soccer team that will be part of the USL Super League during the upcoming summer.

"I want to help grow women's sports and elevate female athletes across the board," Reese said in a statement. "We're taking over, and I'm honored to be able to support Power FC and invest in women's soccer in the DMV community."

She isn't the only notable part of the ownership group, as Major League Soccer's D.C. United and community leaders in the Washington D.C. area are also part of the group.

Reese is from Randallstown, Maryland, so she has connections to the Washington D.C. area.

The 22-year-old even started her collegiate career with Maryland, where she played two seasons for the Terrapins before transferring to LSU. She was an All-Big Ten First Team selection and All-American Third Team choice in 2021-22, which was her final season with the program.

Reese then became a household name with the Tigers, where she became a national champion and the SEC Player of the Year.

Chicago saw enough to make her the No. 7 pick of the 2024 WNBA draft, and she has already shown flashes of her potential through the first two games of her career. She averaged 11.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals during those first two contests, which the Sky split.

They earned their first win of the season on Saturday with an 83-74 victory over the Dallas Wings.

While Reese will be busy trying to fulfill her potential as a WNBA star in Chicago this summer, she will also have her attention on the DC Power Football Club.
