Chanel Hires Head of Diversity and Inclusion

Chanel is the latest label to take steps to diversify its own corporate structure. According to Business of Fashion, the luxury fashion house has hired Fiona Pargeter as its Head of Diversity and Inclusion, the first position of its kind at Chanel. In recent years, the fashion world has taken strides to become a fairer industry, with good intentions but many missteps along the way.

Chanel believes Pargeter to be the perfect fit to foster a more inclusive and diverse environment in the company. Pargeter previously helmed a similar role for the Swiss Bank UBS. And although she comes with much experience in the field, we’re curious to see how public opinion unfolds, seeing as Chanel’s face of diversity is white.
