Week 28 in review: The Galaxy Note10 and Pixel 4 renders are here

Another week done and dusted and it's time to fill those that weren't paying attention what exciting developments it brought.

Both the Google Pixel 4 and the Samsung Galaxy Note10 leaked in renders. It's high summer now but we're already getting a fairly good idea of the Fall flagships and these two are among the most anticipated.

The Google Pixel 4 renders are based on rumors so their accuracy might not be the best, but they do give a shape to the leaks and that shape is polarizing. Some hate the asymmetry due to the larger top bezel while others are let down by the dual (and not triple) rear camera and the huge square hump it inhabits.

The Galaxy Note10 renders could prove to be the real deal. They show a phone with razor thin side bezels, a centered punch hole camera and a vertical triple camera on the rear (quadruple, but who counts the ToF camera anyway).

The Galaxy Note10 5G will be the range topper and it will come with 1TB of on-board storage and 12GB of RAM. Samsung is currently teasing the upcoming August 7 Galaxy Note10 event with a series of short clips emphasizing its productivity prowess.

While on the subject of Samsung, a few images of the upcoming Galaxy A90 showed that it will have a notchless front and a triple camera on the rear.

Apple made it to the top of the tech chatter with a billboard about its commitment to privacy. Apple clearly meant this as a jab at Google, seeing how it placed the billboard across one of Alphabet's companies.

In more hardware-oriented Apple news it looks like the 2020 line of iPhones will have smaller notches. Apple could also bring four smartphones in 2020 - three OLEDs with 5G (a 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch and a 6.7-inch) and a smaller (iPhone 8-sized) and cheaper fourth model - perhaps the iPhone SE successor. Apple's first all-screen phone will reportedly come in 2021.

One final bit of Apple news - the redesigned logic board of the Apple iPhone XI leaked and it's no longer an L-shaped one, hinting at a bigger battery.

The Sony Xperia 20 specs leaked this week, showing an upgraded Snapdragon 710 chipset and the same 21:9 aspect 6-inch screen.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite finally appeared on the horizon. It looks like they will be based on the new CC9 series and will pack a Snapdragon 730 and Snapdragon 675 chipset, respectively.

The final big story of the week was a leaked front glass element that reportedly belongs to the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. It hints at an even bigger screen curve compared to the Mate 20 Pro.

See you in a week!
