Louise Linton films herself speeding to set to film new movie with Ed Westwick

The wife of Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has shown a behind-the-scene glimpse on set of a movie she is directing.

Lousie Linton, 38, wrote 'Me, You, Madness'  about a young thief, played by Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick, who discovers he is robbing the Malibu home of a serial killer.

The Scottish-born blonde also stars in the movie, playing the bisexual psychopathic killer who is 'uninhibited' and 'very carnal and confident in her sexuality', that the hapless thief played by Westwick robs.

In the new clip, shared to her Instagram story, she begins doing her own make-up at home, telling her 16,000 followers, that she doesn't have time to sit in a beautician's chair as she is acting and directing.

She continues to explain her busy schedule, explaining that she got up at 5.30am for her final day of shooting on the movie. While talking to her fans she sits with her hair in curlers and applies gory Halloween-style make-up for her face.

Later, she picks up storyboards, explaining she used Polly Pocket dolls to tell the story.

'I've got my lines, still haven't learned them all, even though I wrote them!' she jokes as she climbs into her car.

Being filmed by an assistant, she explains that she's running late to set and adds: 'If I drive like a granny with a speed addiction i'll get there'.

Once on set she thanks policemen, mingles with the crew, and shows a glimpse of a fleet of extraordinarily expensive prop cars, including a blue Lamborghini.

She then speaks to the film's star,  Ed Westwick, who said he's 'ready to finish what we started' before adding, 'we're not going to finish because we have another day'.

Linton replied: 'It's the never ending movie, we started in March, and now its Julym we're going to be filming this movie for the rest of time',

Later at home she says she has a very long twelve hour day. 'It's 10pm and i'm cooking up a quick snack.'

It comes a week after the British actress  took to Instagram to share several snaps from her July 4 festivities, including one that showed her snuggling up to her high-powered husband on a sun lounger.

Linton was seen rocking a bright red bikini that was the exact same shade as the MAGA caps made famous by her husband's boss - President Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, Mnuchin - who has a reported net worth of $300 million - dressed down in a blue shirt and Oakley sunglasses as he gazed upon his glamorous wife.

The couple, who married in 2017, were joined by a bevvy of bikini-clad friends for the Fourth of July party, held at their $26 million home in the suburb of Bel-Air.

She is regularly spotted on her husband's arm at DC events and recently joined the Trump family in her native UK for a state dinner at Buckingham Palace.

In other images, Linton was seen tending to the barbecue before petting her pet pooch as she showed off her eye-catching engagement ring.

Speaking previously about the upcoming movie, Linton told DailyMail.com: 'The movie is every bit the playful 80's homage I dreamed of when I wrote it.

'It was a joyful set, even under pressure. Ed Westwick is a phenomenal actor, collaborator, friend and creative force who became my co-pilot on many creative aspects of the film,' she added.

A photo from the film shows Westwick and Linton sitting next to each other on a sofa - him looking bruised and beaten up while she is glamorous in a long yellow dress, high heels and full hair and makeup.

The film is being made under her Stormchaser Films company and being shopped to distributors.

Linton was spotted at the Sundance Film Festival in January drumming up business for her new production company.

She has been recasting herself as a serious actress after a series of gaffes undermined her public image with a focus on her acting career instead of her life in Washington D.C.

'I'm a filmmaker, I'm not a politician,' she told the Hollywood Reporter in January.

It was some now infamous photos of her that resulted in her being tagged the Marie Antoinette of the Donald Trump administration.

The first was an August 2017 Instagram post where she tagged the fashion brands she wore while exiting a government plane with her husband on a trip to discuss tax policy.

Critics seized on the post, to which she responded: 'Have you given more to the economy than me and my husband? … You're adorably out of touch.'

That was followed by a November 2017 visit to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, where Linton, clad in black and wearing gloves, held up a sheet of freshly printed dollar bills in a photo with Mnuchin.

She has participated in profiles in Elle and the Washingtonian, where she apologized, and she relaunched her Instagram feed in 2018 with a focus on charity work.

'I was so stupid,' Linton told Ellein a February interview: 'I wish I could take it back.'

'I wasn't thinking about who I am,' she added. 'I wasn't thinking, I am the wife of this person and thus I should act like the wife of this person.'
