New Zealand business confidence declines in October - ANZ survey - Reuters - 1 minute read

Oct 13 (Reuters) - New Zealand business sentiment fell in October from the previous month, an ANZ Bank preliminary survey showed on Wednesday, as the country’s largest city, Auckland, remains in a lockdown to contain an outbreak of the Delta variant of the coronavirus.
The survey’s headline measure showed a net 8.6% of respondents expected the economy to deteriorate over the year ahead. It compared with a 7.2% pessimism level in the previous poll in September.
A net 26.2% of respondents expected their own businesses to grow in the next 12 months, compared with 18.2% last month. (Reporting by Renju Jose in Sydney; Editing by Shri Navaratnam)
