Cricket World Cup: India v Australia - 1 minute read

India captain Rohit Sharma: "It was a good game for us to start. I thought it was magnificent. Especially the fielding, we take a lot of pride in that part of the game. We saw the effort from everyone today. In conditions like this sometimes it can be tough, but our bowlers used the conditions perfectly.

"We didn't want to start our innings like that. You have to give credit to the Aussies, some loose shots but that happens. With that sort of target you want to get off the mark as quick as possible. Credit to Virat and KL for creating that match-winning partnership.

"We're going to play on different pitches, you might have to change your combination. We're prepared to do that, we've been talking about it - whoever suits the conditions needs to do a job for us.

"The crowd never disappoints, they love their cricket and we love playing cricket in front of them. For them to be sitting there in that heat, it says a lot."
