Bec Hewitt gets a $400 parking ticket for stopping in a truck zone

Nothing ruins your day quite like a parking ticket.

Bec Hewitt learned this lesson the hard way last Tuesday, when a parking inspector slapped her with a hefty fine - possibly of up to $400 - for stopping in a truck zone.

The 35-year-old had quickly dashed into a veterinary clinic to pick up her dog, Bux, but was away from her car long enough to attract the attention of a traffic warden.

Bec looked in high spirits while running errands, and was even seen catching up with a female friend who happened to be passing by.

But her smile vanished when she discovered that a ticket had been placed on her windshield in her absence.

Looking crestfallen, she peeled off the piece of paper, climbed back into her luxury Mercedes-Benz and drove away.

The former Home and Away star dressed casually for the outing, wearing a red T-shirt, skinny jeans and sneakers.

She accessorised with a Burberry crossbody handbag and styled her long, blonde hair loosely in a middle parting.

At one stage, her dog Bux marked his territory on a tree outside the veterinary clinic, with Bec looking a little embarrassed.

Bec, who played Hayley Smith on Home and Away from 1998 to 2005, is married to professional tennis player Lleyton Hewitt.

The couple, who live in a $12.7million Georgian-style home in Toorak, share three children together: Ava, Mia and Cruz.

Despite endless tabloid rumours suggesting their relationship is in 'crisis', it is believed the pair are happily married.
