Ace Adds Comfort, Functionality + Character to Any Athletic Environment - 2 minutes read

A modern reinterpretation of outdoor furniture that’s often found on the sides of pools or sports fields, Ace – named after the winning tennis serve – wants to accommodate athletes, guests and aficionados alike. Designed by Patrick Norguet for Ethimo, the collection can be reconfigured according to your needs thanks to a modular base with lots of versatility that comes in four lengths. You can add accessories as well, such as a shoe rack, bag holder and aluminum bottle rack.

“With this ambitious project we wanted to offer a new interpretation of both the design and the often under appreciated comfort which usually characterize athletic stations and seats, creating a high-end collection of extremely functional solutions designed to accompany athletes during competitions and ensure their utmost well-being,” states Norguet. “Ace was inspired by the very real need to create a new and improved sense of comfort for players during international events. Thus, together with Ethimo, we came up with a system that has a clean and elegant design which satisfies the widest range of demands.”

Designed with tennis courts, pools, athletic clubs and resorts in mind, adapting to its surroundings is simple for Ace. Various configurations can be created to highlight the collection’s versatility and specific purpose, showing that it’s not only for professionals, but everyday amateur athletes as well.

As an homage to the tennis world, there’s an iconic umpire chair that towers above the other pieces. Inviting and sophisticated, highly skilled craftsman are responsible for giving the teak wood that special curve. Representing the relationship between artistry and industry, it adds volume to the seat and an extra design touch to the chair.

Ace’s primary materials are FSC certified natural teak and aluminum that’s available in four colors: Black Red, Moss Green, Coffee Brown and Warm White. The use of environmentally friendly materials that stand up to outdoor wear and tear make Ace a collection designed to adapt to – and respect – the environment in which it’s placed.‎

Ace will be available in 2022. To learn more, visit ethimo.com.
