AirPower Promised, XVIDA Delivers – Charge iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods at Once - 5 minutes read

Charge iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods at Once

With AirPower officially canceled by Apple, many people are looking for a comparable all-in-one wireless charging solution. XVIDA offers a very solid alternative – their brand new 3-in-1 Qi wireless charging pad.

All Qi-compatible phones will work with the XVIDA 3-in-1 Wireless Charger.

The XVIDA 3-in-1 charger has a sleek, minimalist design that’s made of high-quality anodized aluminum and complements the aesthetic of iPhones and Apple Watches. The charger has three available charging spaces (10W, Apple Watch, 5W) utilizing complex multi-device charging circuitrythat can be used to charge two phones and an Apple Watch at the same time.

At first glance, it feels solidly built and nice in your hands. It’s much thinner and sleeker than you might expect from a charger that is capable of charging three devices. It’s compact, and can easily and unobtrusively be stowed away in the smallest carry-on for quick business trips, yet it has enough space to charge three devices at one time while using the supplied 9V power adapter that features both a reliably sturdy USB-C port and powerful 9V power brick with connected USB-C cable. So if you want to take this on your travels, you don’t need to pack an extra power cable and adapter. You can also alternatively and conveniently use your USB-C MacBook Pro charger to power this device (which is what I do).

There are quite a few things to like aboutXvida’s 3-in-1 charger. The first is the availability of different charging speeds. Charging is straightforward and it’s nicely convenient that one can see the indicators for 10W charging on the left, 5W charging on the right, and Apple Watch in the middle (it has graphics indicating where each device should be placed). Because of this, when charging two phones simultaneously, you know that you’re getting faster charging on the left side (10W) and can put the phone with a lower battery on that side. Keep in mind that Apple currently only supports up to 7.5W, so you’re not going to get the full 10W speed unless you’re charging a compatible Android phone (which this charger also accommodates).

One of the things you might notice in the event of charging two iPhones and an Apple watch at the same time, is that you won’t be receiving the maximum amount of charging speed (charging time will be increased). No worries though, as this is typical of any multi-device Qi wireless charger when charging at full capacity.  XVIDA even acknowledges this and states that the charger is built with temperature controls and surge-protection technology, and this may slow charging duration when the charger is used to charge three devices at the same time. This is nicely reassuring when you have a massive MacBook Pro charger powering this robust device – you can rest assured it’s not going to overheat or fail.

If I had one major gripe about this device, it would be the same complaint almost everyone has about wirelessly charging multiple devices with one charger: you have to make sure your devices are placed in the right spot to charge, and it does take a second or two to make sure that your phone is actually charging because you have to find the “sweet-spot” (charging coil) for each device. But that’s it.

Perhaps even more enticing, this 3-in-1 Qi wireless charger retails for only $49, which is an incredible price for a quality multi-device charger (compared to the rumored $199 for AirPower).  So, if you’re looking for a very solid wireless charger with a plethora of unique features, this one is a fantastic option. It’s such a great value that you could painlessly purchase a few and always have a station nearby (home, work, etc.) to charge all your devices.

With no sign of Apple’s AirPower wireless charger coming soon, I was looking for a good alternative to test and use – specifically one that can quickly charge both my iPhone Xs Max and Apple Watch 4. After researching many brands I stumbled upon XVIDA’s attractively sleek 3-in-1 magnetic wireless charger and decided to give it a try. For the surprisingly inexpensive price tag of $49 XVIDA exceeded many of my expectations. Because of this, it deserves much praise. With this charger’s perfect combination of design quality and value, I’m impressed by XVIDA and this product.
