What to do if one of your AirPods stops working - 2 minutes read

So you’re listening to your favorite tunes and suddenly no sound is coming through one of your AirPods. Great, now what?

Here are the steps to reset your AirPods and get that one working again.

Charge and try again

The first thing you should try would be to put them back in the case and make sure they are charged. Then take them out of the case and try again. This fixes the problem most of the time, so it should be your first step.

Reset your AirPods

If putting them back in the case and trying again doesn’t work, you can try to reset them. Just follow these steps.

1) Put both of your AirPods in their charging case. If both AirPods appear to charge just fine, continue with the steps below. If the AirPod is not charging, you might need more help from Apple Support.

2) If after charging, that one AirPod still isn’t playing audio, grab your iPhone and go to Settings > Bluetooth.

3) Tap the Info icon (small letter “i”) next to your AirPods.

4) Select Forget This Device and confirm the action.

5) Place your AirPods back in their charging case with the lid closed, wait about 30 seconds, and open the lid.

6) Press and hold the setup button until you see the white flashing light.

7) With the AirPods still in the case, hold them near your device and reconnect them using the onscreen prompts.

This should get that rebel AirPod back on track! If not, you may need to give it a good cleaning or contact Apple Support.
