President Donald Trump took the Irish goodbye to an entirely different level on Monday.

He ditched Dan Gable, a legendary wrestler, wandering away after draping the sports figure in the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Trump seemingly decided it was time to go when reporters began asking him questions involving the  2020 election the president lost to President-elect Joe Biden.

Gable, meanwhile, was left hanging after receiving the nation's highest civilian honor.

The scene was comic and surreal. Gable was left standing alone, shrugging his shoulders as he and his (maskless) family stood in the White House.

"It's done," Gable said.
