Insider looked at which occupations pay the most in Florida based on average annual wages in May 2022 per the Bureau of Labor Statistics. There were over 750 different detailed occupations that had average annual wage data available for the state.

While the average annual wage for Florida was $55,980 in May 2022, the 30 jobs with the highest averages in the state were over double that. For example, Florida commercial pilots had an average of $131,610 and an estimated 6,410 were employed as this kind of pilot.

Cardiologists had the greatest pay in the state, with an average annual wage of $428,810. This job is also the best-paying job nationally, per average annual wage data, with a national average of $421,330.
