The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers have one of the biggest rivalries in Major League Baseball, and it appears the team from Northern California is already trolling its in-state rival before the 2024 season begins.

The Giants have scheduled a Mickey Mouse ears hat giveaway for when the Dodgers are in town on June 30, and the first 15,000 fans in attendance will receive the hat.

If the Giants were running this promotion against any other team, it wouldn't be perceived as a big deal. But since they are running it while the Dodgers are in town, fans have begun to speculate that it's a shot at L.A.

The Dodgers won the World Series in 2020 when the regular season was shortened to 60 games during the COVID-19 pandemic. They defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in the Fall Classic at a neutral site—Globe Life Field—to capture their first title in more than 30 years.

L.A.'s championship win has since been labeled a "Mickey Mouse" title because the franchise won without playing a full season or having to travel to the opposing team's field.

While the Giants are likely giving out the Mickey Mouse ears hat because it's Disneyland Day at Oracle Park on June 30, the Dodgers and their fans are still likely going to take it as a shot at the franchise.

After adding Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Manuel Margot and Teoscar Hernández this winter, the Dodgers enter the 2024 season with major World Series expectations and could get the last laugh in October.
