Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Resident Evil 2 hit Xbox Game Pass this month — but no Call of Duty... - 2 minutes read

Xbox has revealed its first Game Pass lineup of 2024, which includes headliners like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Resident Evil 2. But there’s still no sign of the Call of Duty games Xbox boss Phil Spencer hinted at for 2024.

Game Pass is the subscription service offered by Microsoft that lets you play a changing collection of games on Xbox and PC without paying for each individual game. Last year, Spencer said the long regulatory process associated with Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard meant Xbox wasn’t able to release any of the publisher’s games on Game Pass right away. Instead, he indicated that they would hit the service in 2024 — unlike how Xbox added several Bethesda games to Game Pass just days after its acquisition closed.

There are still some other notable additions coming to Game Pass this month, including Figment and We Happy Few, the latter of which is making a return to Game Pass after leaving the service last year. Here’s the full roster of games coming to Game Pass in January and their release dates:

Quite a few games are leaving Game Pass this month, too. You’ll only have a couple more days to play Grand Theft Auto V on Game Pass, which leaves on January 5th. Meanwhile, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 3 Portable, Garden Story, and MotoGP 22 leave GamePass on January 15th.

With no Call of Duty games on this month’s list, that means we’re probably going to have to wait a little longer to see any games from the franchise, along with other Activision Blizzard titles like Diablo IV and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, officially hit Game Pass.
