The Giants Community Fund’s annual Junior Giants Stretch Drive is going on now! The Community Fund raises money to help with health, education and violence prevention as well, and you may have seen the 50/50 raffle they do at the ballpark, or heard of their Play Ball Lunch. But this event is specifically for the Junior Giants program, which is a free, noncompetitive, co-ed program throughout California, Nevada and Oregon.

This fundraising drive is intended to honor the legacy of Willie McCovey, and the goal is to raise money for the Junior Giants program, which provides baseball as well as learning opportunities for 24,000 boys and girls in under-served communities. In these programs, kids learn the Junior Giants 4 Bases of Character Development: Confidence, Integrity, Leadership and Teamwork.

PG&E has pledged to match up to $100,000 in donations, and you can help with the effort by visiting the Junior Giants’ donation website and making a contribution.
